SIE Int'l Students Won Good Results on 52nd NMU Sports Meeting

Due to the epidemic, many international students were not able to return to school, and at the same time, the number of events in this year's sports meeting was significantly reduced compared with previous years, and the number of participants from each school was limited to 20. Nevertheless, the athletes of SIE showed their vigor and vitality in the 12 events despite the difficulties. In the men's soccer long kick competition, SYLVESTRE OBIANG NGWA, a 2020 undergraduate student from Gabon, won the championship with an absolute advantage; the women's solid ball competition also brought good news, as the traditional strength of international students, HELENA AGYEI LARTEY, a 2019 PhD student from Ghana, lived up to the expectations and won the championship; in the men's 4*100 competition, four undergraduate students from SIE, namely AHMED ADEM MOHAMMEDZEYN, ANGELINO LOPES CORREIA, LLOYD MAOMA and SYLVESTRE OBIANG NGWA, won the fifth place. In other competitions, international students from SIE also made achievements. ABIB FAWZIA SAWADOGO, a 2019 undergraduate student from Burkina Faso, won the third place in women's triple jump, and SALEH ALLAN MURSHED SALEM, a 2021 undergraduate student from Yemen, and ATTA UL MUSTAFA, a 2020 master student from Pakistan, won the sixth and seventh places in men's solid ball competition, respectively.

受疫情影响，我院众多留学生未能返校，与此同时，本届运动会项目较往年大幅减少，参赛人数也限制为20人。尽管如此，我院运动健儿们不畏艰难，在12个项目上奋勇拼搏，展现了蓬勃的朝气与活力。在男子足球踢远比赛中，来自加蓬的2019级本科生六力同学以绝对优势夺得冠军；女子实心球比赛也传来喜讯，作为留学生传统优势项目，来自加纳的2019级博士研究生何琳娜同学不负众望，将冠军收入囊中；在男子4*100的比赛中，我院由阿迈德、安吉利、毛玛、六力四名本科生组成的队伍获得第五名。在其他比赛项目上，我院留学生也有所斩获。来自布基纳法索的2019级本科生阿贝波同学获得女子三级跳远第三名、来自也门的2021级本科生莫赛德和来自巴基斯坦的2020级硕士研究生穆斯塔法同学，分别获得男子实心球比赛第六名和第七名。
